The Keemosabees @ 12 South Taproom Monday January 14th 2019 - 9:00pm

The Keemosabees return for their first show of 2019! The band is composed of three of Nashville’s most versatile musicians, songwriters, and singers. Ricky Ray (guitar/vocals), Rick Lonow (drums/vocals) and Dave Pomeroy (bass/vocals) are longtime friends who joined forces in 2013 as the Keemosabees. Collectively they have worked with and written songs for dozens of iconic artists such as Waylon Jennings, Chet Atkins, Poco, Elton John, Earl Scruggs, John Prine, and Tony Joe White. Led by the funky guitar and soulful voice of Ricky Ray, the Keemosabees musical chemistry gives them the freedom to blend styles into their own distinctive blend of American roots music. You could call it “country-funk-blues soul” if you need a genre!

Ricky Ray has worked with Dobie Gray, Tony Joe White, and Joe Cocker, and his songs have been recorded by Etta James, Ruth Brown, The Band, and many more. Rick Lonow has long been regarded as one of Nashville’s most versatile drummers, playing on three Grammy winning recordings by June Carter Cash, many albums with artists including Billy Joe Shaver, Loretta Lynn, and The Jamie Hartford Band, as well as co-writing the Poco hit “Call It Love.” Bassist Dave Pomeroy has played on records by Keith Whitley, Trisha Yearwood, Alan Jackson, and Alison Krauss, in concert with Steve Winwood, Peter Frampton, Willie Nelson and John Fogerty, and has had songs recorded by Chet Atkins, Don Williams, and the Sweethearts of The Rodeo. Ricky, Rick, and Dave are staking out new territory as The Keemosabees, and their live performances are exciting, unpredictable and very satisfying for all concerned.

Every holiday season, bassist and producer Dave Pomeroy pulls together a dazzling array of Nashville’s finest singers, songwriters and musicians for a great cause — raising funds for Nashville’s Room in the Inn homeless program. The 19th Annual "Nashville Unlimited" Christmas Concert will be held Tuesday, December 11th, 2018 at 7 p.m. in the beautiful sanctuary of Christ Church Cathedral at 900 Broadway in downtown Nashville.

As always, this free concert is produced and hosted by Dave Pomeroy, with a suggested minimum donation of $20. All proceeds go to Room In The Inn. Seating is first come, first serve and the doors open at 6 p.m. So far, this year’s lineup includes The Nashville Jazz Orchestra, Tom Paxton, Rodney Crowell, The McCrary Sisters, The Ukedelics, Seay, The Don Juans, and Aubrey Chemel, with more to come. As always, you never know what “Mystery Guests” will make an appearance for this special event. Past performers have included John Prine, Emmylou Harris, The Time Jumpers, the Fisk Jubilee Singers, John Cowan, Kathy Mattea, Johnny Neel, Annie Selleck, The Hot Club of Nashville, Jonell Mosser, Buddy Miller, and many more of Music City’s finest musicians and singers.

Since 1992, Pomeroy’s holiday concerts have raised more than $300,000 in donations for Room In The Inn, an organization that transforms the lives of Nashville’s homeless.

“Nashville Unlimited Christmas celebrates the season with great holiday music while raising much-needed funds and increasing awareness of the great acts of love, kindness and understanding done for our community by Room In The Inn over the past 20 years,” said Pomeroy. “We urge all Nashvillians to come share in the true spirit of Christmas,” he added.
